 This poem of Khalil Gibran from 'The Prophet' is a great reminder that pain is the divine taking us to a different dimension of life. We don't need oppose and resist it. Pain is inevitable but, suffering is optional. The only reason we suffer with our pain is that we do not want to accept its existence and do not recognize its value. We take pain as a punishment that we don't believe we deserve. In truth, pain chooses us when it sees that we are ready for transformation.
